NVIDIA To Release Tegra Based Netbook November This Year
As the final spec"s of this netbook is uknown, The earlier news disclosed that the initial prototype could be built by Mobinnova that contains 8.9-inch LCD screen, full wireless 802.11b/g and 3G network connectivity for impressive HD media and internet browsing experience and a webcam but it currently runs on Microsoft"s Windows CE. NVIDIA also mentioned that this prototype could be running on Android OS.ÒNVIDIA also said that this unnamed netbook will be released somewhere in November in United States at a reasonable price of $244. At the sametime, NVIDIA also said that they will be releasing a Tegra based smartphone late this year or early next year. Thats all the information provided by NVIDIA.
nVidia has got in touch with Pocket-lint to clarify that it won"t personally be launching the tegra powered netbook under the nVidia brand name, instead leaving the operators to brand and market the device by mobinnova. However it is unsure at this time whether or not the operators will be offering the netbook without a contract.
NVIDIA does not have any plans at this time to build or sell its own netbook. The Mobinova device mentioned in your article is an ODM device, and is expected to be sold to mobile carriers who will brand it with their own logo and sell it through their own distribution channels, with their own subscriber plans and applications.
